DEFIANCE Reunion 'On Hold'
September 19, 2004Long-defunct San Francisco Bay Area thrash band DEFIANCE have postponed their reunion plans following singer Steev Esquivel's decision to fill in for departed EXODUS frontman Steve "Zetro" Souza on the latter band's rescheduled tour of South America in late October. "Because Steev will be very busy in rehearsals with EXODUS for the next few months and then on tour with the band, the DEFIANCE reunion is going to be put on hold until after the tour is completed," reads a posting on the DEFIANCE web site." At that time we should have a better idea of what is going to happen going forward. While Steev is gone, the rest of the DEFIANCE band will continue to work on songs and continue to maintain and add new content (music, photos, flyers, band updates, etc.) to the official DEFIANCEweb site."
DEFIANCE released three albums through the Roadrunner label — 1989's "Product of Society", 1990's "Void Terra Firma", and 1992's "Beyond Recognition" — before undergoing major lineup changes (which included the addition of singer Dave (Godfrey) White of HEATHEN fame) and changing their name to INNER THRESHOLD. The group eventually split up, with various bandmembers going on to join other bands.
